Sdyn’s DSA series of Power Amplifier offer flexibility that allow seamless operation with different make, model, and capacity of Electrodynamic Shaker.
Armature: The power modules manufactured by Sdyn operate at 250VDC bus and are capable of 180VRMS output which is the industries highest. This allows direct coupling of the module with any armature without any need of step-up, step-down, or isolation transformer for full rating operation in Random. Input side of the power amplifier is galvanically isolated with a 1500VRMS isolation which eliminates any ground loop that can cause issues in operating low acceleration profiles. The input sensitivity is adjustable between 1 VRMS to 60 VRMS and 1 VRMS to 100 VRMS. By default, the input sensitivity is kept at 1 VRMS to 80 VRMS. Armature over-voltage and over-current protections are adjustable. Input peak voltage protection is also provided and adjustable. Armature voltage and current can be monitored via dedicated BNC ports on the power amplifier and are displayed on the TFT display in True RMS.
Field: The output to field is from the input transformer. Power rating and voltage tapping of this transformer can be controlled to achieve desired field voltage with required current capability. Soft-start circuit is standard and independent of field voltage and current. Field under-voltage, over-voltage, under-current, and over-current protections are adjustable. Field voltage and current are displayed on the TFT display in DC.
Degauss: The output to degauss is also from the same input transformer as the field. Any fluctuations on flied are also translated on the degauss, keeping the gauss level above the armature maintained. Degauss voltage and current are displayed on the TFT display in DC.
Automation: A shaker control box is installed on the shaker which allows a wiring harness to connect the power amplifier to the shaker. This box provides individual connections between the wiring harness and all individual switches, sensors, oil pumps, solenoid values, and a dedicated PCB mounted inside the shaker for connecting critical interlocks of the shaker.
- Shaker Orientation: Our system is compatible with inductive, optical, limit, and mercury type switch to detect shaker orientation. +24VDC is also provided to power inductive and optical type switches.
- Horizontal Slip Table Over Travel: Our system is compatible with inductive, optical, and limit type switch to detect over travel of HST. +24VDC is also provided to power inductive and optical type switches.
- Oil Pump: Dedicated connection for oil pumps of one Central Guidance bearing and two Horizontal Slip Table is provided from a starter. Starter of any rating can be provided. Only three phase is available and neutral is not provided.
- Guided Head Expander Air Bellows: Dedicated connection for air bellows of a guided head expander is provided. An illuminated button is provided to allow flow of pneumatic pressure to the air bellows of the guided head expander from the same loop as the auto centering pneumatic pressure to the armature.
Interlock: There are four essential interlocks on an Electrodynamic Shaker. All these interlocks are accessible via a PCB which houses screw terminal connectors to connect the switch / sensor used inside the Electrodynamic Shaker. The status and polarity of every interlock is adjustable from the TFT display.
- Armature Over Travel: Our system is compatible with inductive, optical, and limit type switch to detect over travel of armature. +24VDC is also provided to power inductive and optical type switches.
- Air Flow: The PCB which houses screw terminal connectors also has a MEMS sensor-based air flow sensing circuit. A 4mm pneumatic hose connection is available in the PCB itself which needs to end at where suction air has the maximum pressure and concentration. The output from this PCB is a 4 to 20mA current signal representing 0 mbar to -0.3 mbar. This system will replace the existing air flow sensing mechanism of the shaker.
- Armature Temperature: Our system is compatible with PT1000 RTD, PT100 RTD, and temperature switch to detect over temperature of armature. For temperature switches, when closed a very low value close to 0°C will be displaced and when open a very high value close to 200°C will be displaced.
- Field Temperature: Our system is compatible with PT1000 RTD, PT100 RTD, and temperature switch to detect over temperature of field. For temperature switches, when closed a very low value close to 0°C will be displaced and when open a very high value close to 200°C will be displaced.
Auto Centering: The auto centering mechanism of Sdyn is unique in many ways. We use pneumatic pressure and DC offset simultaneously to keep the armature at its centre. To install this system, it is advised to send the shaker to Sdyn’s HQ at Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
